Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ANKA by Shree mobile application (“App”), the website at https://ankabyshree.in(“Site”), and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Shreeyanshi Katre, operating as a sole proprietor under the brand name “ANKA by Shree” (“ANKA”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is intended exclusively for use by children aged between 9 and 18 (“Students”) under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian (“Parent”). The Parent is the contracting party under these Terms and is responsible for the Student's use of the Service.


1. Definitions

  • Account: the credentials issued by ANKA to a Parent on behalf of a Student.
  • Course / Programme: the recorded lessons, live classes, practice drills, quizzes, and learning materials provided by ANKA.
  • Live Class: a real-time class delivered via a third-party meeting service (currently Google Meet).
  • Content: all videos, audio, text, quizzes, images, brand marks, and other materials made available through the Service.

2. Eligibility & Account Creation

2.1. The Service is available only to residents of India.

2.2. Accounts are created by ANKA's administrators following completion of the enrolment process — there is no self-serve sign-up.

2.3. ANKA will issue Account credentials to the Parent via WhatsApp or email. The first login to the App using these credentials must be performed by the Parent.

2.4. The Parent must, at first login, review and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Acceptance is recorded by ANKA (date, time, IP address, device details, document versions) as the Parent's verifiable consent under Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP”) on behalf of the Student.

2.5. After acceptance, the Parent may hand the credentials to the Student for ongoing use. The Parent remains responsible for the Student's conduct on the Service and for safeguarding the credentials.

2.6. Each Account is for a single Student in a single household. Sharing of an Account across multiple Students, or use of an Account by anyone other than the named Student, is prohibited.

3. Verifiable Parental Consent

3.1. ANKA processes data of Students who are minors. As required by DPDP §9, ANKA obtains the Parent's verifiable consent before processing any Student data beyond what is strictly necessary to create the Account.

3.2. By logging in for the first time and accepting these Terms and the Privacy Policy, the Parent confirms that:

  • they are the lawful parent or guardian of the Student;
  • they have read these Terms and the Privacy Policy in full;
  • they consent to ANKA processing the Student's data for the purposes set out in the Privacy Policy;
  • they will supervise the Student's use of the Service and remain available at the WhatsApp number / email on file for ANKA to reach for safety, billing, or grievance matters.

3.3. The Parent may withdraw consent at any time by writing to the Grievance Officer (see §17). Withdrawal will result in the Account being deactivated and Student data being deleted per the Privacy Policy's retention schedule, except where retention is required by law.

4. Fees, Billing & Payment

4.1. The Service is offered as time-bound Programmes (3, 6, or 12 month plans). Fees and inclusions for each Programme are communicated to the Parent before payment.

4.2. Payment is collected out-of-band via WhatsApp / bank transfer / UPI to the account designated by ANKA, before an Account is created. ANKA does not currently collect payment within the App or Site.

4.3. All fees are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are exclusive of GST unless explicitly stated. If ANKA becomes liable to charge GST, GST will be added to the fees from that date forward.

4.4. ANKA will issue a receipt for every payment received, on request, sent to the Parent's WhatsApp / email.

4.5. Fees are not increased mid-Programme.

5. Refund & Cancellation

5.1. 7-day cooling-off: A Parent may cancel the Programme within 7 calendar days of payment and receive a full refund, provided the Student has attended no more than two (2) Live Classes during that window. The cooling-off request must be sent to support@ankabyshree.in with the order/payment details.

5.2. Cancellation after 7 days: A Parent may cancel any time. ANKA will refund the pro-rata portion of fees attributable to Live Classes not yet attended, minus a flat administrative fee of ₹500. Pro-rata is calculated as: (unattended classes ÷ total classes in Programme) × fees paid − ₹500.

5.3. Non-refundable items: Certificate issuance fees (once issued), shipped physical materials (if any), and any third-party fees incurred on the Parent's behalf are non-refundable.

5.4. Refunds are processed within 30 business days to the original payment method.

5.5. ANKA acknowledges every cancellation request within 48 hours and resolves within 30 days as required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

5.6. ANKA may, at its sole discretion, cancel a Programme for reasons such as instructor unavailability or insufficient enrolment, in which case a full refund will be issued without deduction.

6. Live Class Conduct

6.1. Live Classes are held on a third-party platform (currently Google Meet). The Parent agrees that the third-party platform's terms of service govern the meeting itself.

6.2. The Student must join Live Classes from a supervised environment, with a Parent reasonably reachable during the session.

6.3. ANKA may record Live Classes for instructor training, quality, and safety review. If a Live Class is recorded, the recording is owned by ANKA, retained for no longer than ninety (90) days, and not used for marketing without separate written consent from the Parent.

6.4. The Student must remain respectful to the instructor and other Students. ANKA may remove a Student from a Live Class for disruptive or abusive behaviour and, if behaviour persists, may suspend the Account per §13.

7. User Conduct & Academic Honesty

The Student and Parent agree not to:

  • record, screen-capture, download, or redistribute any ANKA Content;
  • share Account credentials with any person outside the household;
  • use the Service to harass, impersonate, or harm any person;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to other Students' Accounts, ANKA's servers, or any related system;
  • use the Service for any commercial tutoring, resale, or content scraping;
  • introduce malware, perform load testing, reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. All Content (lesson videos, practice question banks, hints, illustrations, the “ANKA” wordmark and the lotus mark, the brand colour scheme, and the software powering the App and Site) is owned by ANKA and protected under Indian and international copyright and trademark law.

8.2. ANKA grants the Student, for the duration of an active Programme, a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and view Content within the App and Site for personal, non-commercial learning.

8.3. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of Content to the Parent or Student. Save for the licence in §8.2, all rights are reserved.

8.4. Any feedback, suggestions, or testimonials voluntarily provided by the Parent or Student may be used by ANKA, with attribution by first name only and with the Parent's consent, for marketing purposes.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third parties; the Parent acknowledges that data may be processed by these parties under their own terms and privacy policies:

  • Google Workspace / Google Meet — for Live Classes and lead-form ingestion (Apps Script).
  • Vercel — for hosting the Site.
  • Application hosting provider— for hosting the App's backend.
  • WhatsApp Business / Meta Platforms Ireland Limited — for communication with the Parent.

ANKA does not sell or share Student or Parent data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-sharing summary.

10. Disclaimers

10.1. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. ANKA does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific learning outcome (academic improvement, exam result, competitive ranking, certification) will be achieved.

10.2. ANKA is not responsible for content, availability, or behaviour of third-party services on which the Service depends.

10.3. The Vedic Maths techniques taught are supplementary to mainstream school curriculum and are not a substitute for school education, examinations, or accredited instruction.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ANKA's aggregate liability to the Parent and Student arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the fees paid by the Parent to ANKA in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. ANKA shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility.

Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnity

The Parent agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ANKA and its instructors, contractors, and affiliates from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of (i) breach of these Terms by the Parent or Student, (ii) misuse of the Service, (iii) any false statement made about the Student's age, class, or identity, or (iv) infringement of any third party's rights by content the Parent or Student submits to the Service.

13. Suspension & Termination

13.1. ANKA may suspend or terminate an Account immediately, with notice to the Parent, for material breach of these Terms, fraud, non-payment, safety concerns, or where required by law.

13.2. The Parent may terminate the Account at any time by writing to support@ankabyshree.in. On termination, the refund provisions in §5 apply, and Student data is handled per the Privacy Policy's retention schedule.

13.3. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, indemnity, limitation of liability, governing law, dispute resolution) survive termination.

14. Changes to These Terms

ANKA may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to the Parent at least fifteen (15) daysin advance via the App, email, or WhatsApp. The Parent's continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. On the next login after a material change, the Parent will be asked to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing.

15. Notices

Notices to ANKA may be sent to support@ankabyshree.in or by post to the address listed under the Grievance Officer below. Notices to the Parent will be sent to the WhatsApp number or email on file, and that channel is deemed sufficient service for the purposes of these Terms.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

16.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

16.2. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith discussions between the Parent and ANKA within thirty (30) days of written notice.

16.3. If not resolved, the dispute shall be referred to arbitrationby a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Hyderabad, India. The language of arbitration shall be English. The arbitrator's award shall be final and binding.

16.4. Subject to the arbitration clause, the courts at Hyderabad shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Grievances are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 30 days.

18. Force Majeure

ANKA is not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, pandemic, government regulation, internet outage, or third-party service failure.

19. Miscellaneous

19.1. Entire Agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between the Parent and ANKA.

19.2. Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

19.3. No waiver. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of future enforcement.

19.4. Assignment.The Parent may not assign these Terms without ANKA's prior written consent. ANKA may assign on notice in connection with a sale or reorganisation of its business.
